The following paragraphs summarize what information is collected, how it is used by Greater Testing Concepts, and what safeguards are in place to protect your privacy. In no cases does Greater Testing Concepts release or share information with any other organizations, nor do any third parties collect data through this web site. Enrollment: When registering a team for participation in a contest offered by Greater Testing Concepts, the teacher or other adult that will coordinate the administration of the contest (hereafter referred to as “coach”) is asked to provide their name, their school name, a mailing address, an email address, and an optional phone number. The mailing address is used for the sole purpose of sending testing materials, prizes, and communications from Greater Testing Concepts directly concerning the contests. Important notices are sent to all coaches via email or relayed in the Mandelbrot Memo.
.......Occasionally an individual may contact Greater Testing Concepts requesting specific school related information. (For example, a parent of a home-schooled student may ask whether any schools in the area participate in the competition.) When deemed appropriate, Greater Testing Concepts will pass along contact information from the interested party to the coach via email (but never the other way around). Establishing contact with the interested party is then left entirely to the discretion of the coach.

Scoreboard: After each round coaches submit the names and scores of students taking the Mandelbrot Competition. This information is used to create the standings posted at the web site, in which the best scoring students from each league are listed along with their school name and cumulative score. At their discretion coaches may report only a first initial and last name of students when giving scores. Grade levels of students are not requested or displayed in the rankings.

Problem Corner: From 1999 to 2004 Greater Testing Concepts maintained a forum in which students posted original math problems and received solutions to their questions from other students. The name and high school of those contributors and solvers are displayed as part of the archive of problems.
